This newly installed, additional overhead Steinert suspension magnet has been fully integrated included the rectifier and safety signals in the existing Siemens PCS7 v8.1 installation, which is remotely controlled by an Emerson Ovation DCS control system. This started with writing the  the automation functional design, and continued all the way to implementation and commissioning

This plant has been migrated from a Siemens S7-400 & WinCC application, containing 21 redundant IM153-2 modules and 34 Danfoss FC202 Profibus drives, to an Emerson Ovation OCR1100 running on a 3.5.1 platform. This all controlled by Profibus DP where the old remote IO has been left in place to optimize the project costs.
